For many years, people from Africa have crossed borders to study, live, work, and trade. Most of these people do not cut home ties. Instead, the migrant retains relationships with their families and governments, which involves sending and receiving money from home. Students without scholarships may need school fees and upkeep money from their parents in Africa. Employees working abroad may also want to send money home for their families or settle local bills remotely. For whatever legal reason for remittance, cross-border payments remain highly significant to Africans living abroad and their governments, businesses, and families back home.
Considering their global scale, one expects money transfer services such as PayPal and Western Union to meet remittance needs, as interbank transfers may pose many challenges regarding cross-border payments. However, for various reasons, these players fail to meet their expectations.
High fees
An estimated 36 million Africans live abroad, with remittance inflows into Sub-Saharan Africa alone amounting to about $47 billion in 2019. Despite the high demand for international money transfers in this region, cross-border remittance in Africa remains the most expensive in the world. Transfer fees cost approximately 8 and 10% of the transaction value, translating to approximately $4.7 billion in transaction expenses. Money Transfers
When you initiate a money transfer through the App or Services, you are providing us with an instruction to debit your Account and send the specified amount of money to the account designated by you. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the necessary permissions and authorizations to perform transactions from the account in use. In the event of a dispute, such as a claim of unauthorized transaction, you may be required to provide evidence of such permission. Our Company assumes no responsibility and is not liable for any transactions made without the proper authorization from the account holder. In certain circumstances, if it is found that you have performed unauthorized transactions, you may be held liable for the loss and may be subject to account suspension or termination, in addition to potential legal action.
Money Transfer Rules
By using the App and Services to send money from one account to another, you agree to the following rules:
a) Authorization: You must have the legal authority to initiate a transfer from the account being debited. This means you either own the account or have been expressly authorized by the account owner to make the transfer.
b) Instructions: When you instruct us to transfer money, you are authorizing us to debit your account and send those funds to a third party. You agree to ensure that your instructions are accurate and complete, as we may not be able to recover funds sent in error.
c) Unlawful Transfers: You agree not to use our App or Services for any unlawful activities, including but not limited to fraudulent money transfers. If we suspect that a transfer may be unlawful, we reserve the right to refuse to process it and/or to report it to the relevant authorities.
d) Disputes: If a dispute arises regarding a transfer (for example, if a person claims that a transfer was made from their account without their authorization), we may freeze the funds in question until the dispute is resolved. We may also require you to provide additional information or documentation in relation to the disputed transfer.
e) Responsibility: You acknowledge that we are not responsible for ensuring the receipt of the funds by the third party. Our responsibility is limited to sending the funds as per your instruction.
f) Reversals: If you wish to reverse a transfer, you must contact us immediately. We will attempt to reverse the transfer if it has not yet been completed, but we cannot guarantee that reversals will always be possible.
Global Services
Our Company operates and offers its Services in multiple countries across the globe. The availability of certain Services may vary from one jurisdiction to another due to local laws and regulations. Money Transfers
You can use your our Company account to send money to another our Company account or to accounts with other financial institutions. By initiating a money transfer, you authorize our Company to debit your account for the amount of the transfer plus any applicable fees, and to send the money to the recipient account as per your instruction.
You are responsible for ensuring that the details of the recipient account are accurate. our Company is not responsible for any losses resulting from transfers to incorrect accounts due to inaccurate information provided by you.
Authorization of Transactions
When you use the App or Services to send money, you are providing us with a direct instruction and authorization to debit your account and remit the specified amount to a third-party recipient. This instruction is considered valid and legally binding upon confirmation of the transaction within the App or Services.
Upon receipt of your instruction, we will act on your behalf to carry out the transaction, which includes debiting your account for the amount specified and transferring those funds to the designated third-party account.
You acknowledge and agree that once your instruction is given, it may not be revoked, and the transaction may not be stopped or reversed, except in our sole discretion and in accordance with our policies and applicable law.
You agree to ensure that your account has sufficient funds to cover any transactions you initiate, including any fees or charges that may apply. If a transaction causes your account to have insufficient funds, we may refuse to carry out the transaction, and you may be responsible for any fees or charges associated with the failed transaction.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your instructions, including the amount of the transaction and the details of the third-party recipient. We are not responsible for any errors or losses resulting from inaccurate instructions. If you believe you have made an error in your instructions, please contact us immediately.
Unauthorized Transactions
If you believe that an unauthorized transaction has been made from your account, you must notify our Company immediately. Our Company will investigate any such claims and take appropriate action in accordance with its policies and applicable laws.

If your Account is terminated, you may not be able to access any funds remaining in your Account.
